MilikiHub started with a simple frustration: schools across Kenya were still tracking fees in ledgers, chasing parents through phone calls and WhatsApp groups, and keeping attendance on paper registers that could be lost, damaged, or simply never add up at the end of term. Meanwhile, the software that was supposed to fix this often made things worse — expensive to set up, slow to learn, and prone to breaking down exactly when a school needed it most, usually during fee-collection season or exam week.
We built MilikiHub to be the opposite of that experience.
It's a web-based platform, which means there's nothing to install, no app to update, and no IT technician needed to get a school running. A head teacher, bursar, or school administrator can create an account and start managing homework, fees, attendance, and parent communication the same day — without onboarding fees, without a manual, and without worrying that the system will crash the moment the whole school logs in at once.
MilikiHub brings together everything a school's administration actually needs in one place: fee collection with M-Pesa payment tracking, homework assignment and grading, daily attendance by class, instant safety alerts to parents, a parent portal that needs no app download, and staff and student management that works for both the CBC and 8-4-4 curricula. It's built to save school administrators hours every week that used to disappear into paperwork — and to give parents real visibility into their children's school life without a single phone call.
Founder
George Macharia — Founder & Developer
George is a Kenyan entrepreneur, full-stack developer, and SaaS builder who founded MilikiHub after seeing first-hand how much time Kenyan schools were losing to manual systems. Rather than build another app that schools would have to install, pay setup fees for, and hope wouldn't break, he set out to build a system that just works: browser-based, reliable under real school-day load, and simple enough that no school needs a dedicated IT person to run it. MilikiHub is the result — built specifically around how Kenyan schools actually operate, from CBC and 8-4-4 curriculum needs to M-Pesa as the default way parents pay fees.
Our mission
Our mission is to give every school in Kenya — from a 40-student community school to a multi-campus institution — access to school management software that is reliable, affordable, and built around how they actually work, so administrators can spend less time on paperwork and more time on students.
